The newest addition to Concordia University Wisconsin’s campus is officially finished and open for use.
Steve Crook, the head women’s softball coach and assistant athletic director at CUW, is very excited for the opening of this building because it means more time and space is available for his team to get their practices in.
“The CTC is really going to benefit the small roster sports here at CUW such as baseball, softball, golf, lacrosse, and many other intramurals. Having a larger year-round facility will give us more time and reduce the amount of teams fighting over time available in the gym and mezzanine like we previously had,” Crook said.
The downside to this facility for the softball team is that it is only 60 feet wide, which is the same distance of the bases for a full infield. A standard infield practice with this set-up is impossible, but the team makes things work.
Crook said the facility will help with recruiting because the new building shows that the school is serious and dedicated to these sports.
