Concordia University of Wisconsin’s 2018 Homecoming Week officially begins October 22 and lasts through October 27.
“Homecoming is a time when we simply get to celebrate CUW,” Devan Lenz-Fisher, Coordinator of Student Activities at CUW, said.
Each day of the week, CUW holds events for its students, staff, and alumni.
“Departments across campus host exciting events to help our students get in the celebratory spirit, and alumni are invited to come back to campus over the weekend to relive their wonderful experiences and see what the campus is up to,” Lenz-Fisher said.
Monday will feature bed races to see which residence hall team can create the fastest mattress on wheels. On Tuesday, the faculty versus student basketball game will take place at 6:30 pm in the R. John Buuck Field House with a halftime show by the Milwaukee Bucks’ Rim Rockers. A concert by Christian music group Remedy Drive will take place on Thursday at 7 pm in the Albrecht Lounge. Friday features a bonfire and fireworks at the bluff. The CUW Football Game, Freddy Fest, and many more events will take place on Saturday.
Students at CUW are looking forward to the upcoming events of the week.
“I am excited for this year’s Homecoming Week! There are going to be a lot of great activities with Concordians of the past and present,” CUW student Aaron Preston said.
The 2018 Homecoming Week features new events as well as annual traditions that will entertain even those students who have experienced this week before.
“This year’s events are going to be fantastic. From what I saw from the schedule, it looks like there’s going to be a wide range of events for students of all kinds to enjoy. I have attended the Homecoming Dance the past two years and had a blast each time,” CUW student Ethan Karschnik said.
