Concordia University Wisconsin’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) will be hosting its new monthly “Tunes Tuesday” event on October 30.
According to senior Event Management Coordinator for CAB, Karissa Groff, Tunes Tuesday features out-of-state or local artists in a coffee shop like setting, providing students with a calm environment to work on homework and enjoy some music.
“We’ve never done anything exactly like this, so we did it in a way students can still attend but not have to put all their attention on the event, and be able to do their homework and relax,” Groff said.
Sodexo, CUW’s food service provider, is pitching in to sell pastries and coffee during these events, aiding in creating that authentic coffee shop feel.
“I haven’t gone to any of the Tunes Tuesday this year, however I did go to the “Coffee House” last semester and I had a lot of fun, I was really productive, and they had hot chocolate, so it was very exciting,” Sheridan said.
Tunes Tuesday is not only for doing homework or listening to live music, as it also serves as a great way to meet new people.
This Tunes Tuesday will feature Brett Huotari, from 7-8 p.m. in Albrecht Lounge. This Tuesday’s event will also be Halloween themed with Halloween decorations and holiday inspired treats, such as pumpkin bread!
