CUW’s Theater Department Preparing For Fall Musical

Concordia University Wisconsin is providing its students with many forms of entertainment this fall, including the upcoming musical set to run in November.

CUW’s Theater Department puts on various shows throughout the academic year and are always performed by CUW students. Past performances have included “Guys and Dolls” and “The Music Man”.

CUW’s theater courses specialize in training its students to be as versatile as possible by performing shows from a number of different genres. Students put in a lot of time and effort both on and off the stage to build their skill set in preparation for future opportunities.

CUW student Asher Puls has been a cast member in various shows at Concordia, including the upcoming musical “Meet Me in St. Louis”.

“The musical is about a turn-of-the-century American family in the summer of 1903 that is eagerly awaiting the opening of the 1904 World’s Fair,” Puls said.

The musical will feature seven of the best-loved songs from the film, including “The Trolley Song” and “Whenever I’m With You”. Ten additional songs that have been written especially for the stage will be added.

CUW student Aaron Preston has been in the audience for several CUW shows and is eagerly awaiting this next performance.

“I am excited to see the musical for the fall. I enjoy the many great productions I have seen put on at CUW. I am excited as always as to how amazing the show will be,” Preston said.

The musical will be performed in the Todd Wehr Auditorium at CUW. The showtimes are November 7-9 at 7:30 in the evening and on November 10 at 1:30 in the afternoon.
